RMNP Greenhouse Tour August 27
Aug 27, 2026
Attention green thumb and plant enthusiasts!
Rocky Mountain National Park (RMNP) is providing opportunities for the public to visit RMNP’s native plant greenhouse and nursery. Join park staff on a tour and learn the behind-the-scenes efforts of growing and maintaining upwards of 36,000 native plants per year for ongoing restoration projects. Be prepared to learn about seed collection and plant production as well as exciting experiments such as growing plants from bear scat!
On the east side of the park (near Estes Park, CO) greenhouse tours will be available on Thursday, August 27 from 9:30 AM – 11:30 AM. Participants will park at Beaver Meadows Visitor center and meet park staff outside the visitor center entrance at 9:30 AM. From the visitor center you will walk 0.30 miles to the greenhouse for an approximate 60 – 70-minute tour and return no later than 11:30 AM.
Advance Registration is required! Scroll to the bottom of the page to sign up!
What to Expect:
The walk to and from the greenhouse is on paved steps, trails, and roads. The route to the greenhouse is relatively flat but does sharply descend in a small, short section of the walk. Expect to walk the same route back when returning to the visitor center. Seating is provided for the greenhouse portion of the tour, but light walking and standing on minimally uneven terrain will be required when visiting the outdoor nursery.
Accommodation can be made for those unable to walk to the greenhouse. Please reach out to [email protected].
Minimum age: None, but children under 14 must be accompanied by an adult
